OMNILION INTELLIGENCE | Scotland: Argyll and Bute consultation extended WHAT CHANGED: On 2 October, the council corrected consultation data and extended responses to 15 November 2026. The revised “up to 38.8%” housing figure combines short-term lets, empty properties and other second homes; it is not the share of homes used as holiday lets. WHERE: Proposed areas include Mull/Iona, Coll/Tiree, Islay/Jura/Colonsay and Oban Lorn/Inner Isles. WHO IT AFFECTS: Operators, prospective secondary-let developers, residents and connected businesses. WHY IT MATTERS: Review the revised evidence before responding or assessing new projects. This remains a consultation, not an enacted control area. The council says the proposal concerns new secondary-let proposals, would not apply retrospectively to existing operators, and would require council and Scottish Government approval.
