OMNILION INTELLIGENCE | Ireland registration preparation Ireland’s Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment guidance says the short-term letting register will open on 1 December, with registration required by 31 December 2026 for covered accommodation offered for stays of up to 21 nights. Fáilte Ireland will manage it. Who should check: hosts and businesses managing relevant Irish accommodation. The guidance excludes hotels, hostels and several other accommodation categories from its definition of a unit. Practical implication: establish who is responsible for each unit, gather the required information and review the official planning and fire-safety requirements. Registration is not a substitute for those checks. This summarises the department’s current published timetable, not a newly enacted law announced today. Verify the latest official guidance before acting. Source checked 5 October 2026.
